We have implemented a number of new precautions in 2020, designed to make our dojo the safest indoor space for anyone who comes inside to train with us. Please read and adhere strictly to the following:
There is now 30 minutes allotted between each class for cleaning high-touch surfaces and equipment. An electrostatic sprayer is being used to disinfect the entire studio quickly and efficiently. A new air purifier and new ultraviolet germicidal lamps are also be used to kill airborne particles.
Parents should drop off students outside the karate studio no more than 5 minutes before the scheduled class time. Parents should not wait in the lobby during class. When picking up, Sensei will dismiss the younger children to his/her parent one at a time at the door. Middle schoolers and up are allowed to walk out on their own.
There will be a temperature check at the door. If you are not feeling well, please stay home. Wash your hands before you come to class. There will be hand sanitizer to use before and after class.
Please arrive dressed in your gi so class can start upon entering. Please wear a clean uniform and socks. Indoor shoes/slippers will be permitted if used only on the mat and not outside.
Students will need to stay in their designated area with masks on and maintain social distancing during their lessons. All areas will be clearly marked.
All classes will start with stretching, but we will limit physical exercise so as to not increase heavy breathing and focus more on training in karate.
Until further notice, we will not be sparring during class to limit the amount of physical contact. We will practice sparring drills with sanitized punching bags in order to keep safe while keeping our sparring skills at their peak.
There will be no food allowed in the dojo. Please bring your own water bottle to use in class.
Please limit bathroom use by going before you come to class. The bathroom will be available for emergencies.
